U.S. History Test Bank - Florida Edition

This spring, high school students throughout Florida will be required to take an End-of-Course Assessment, or “EOC,” in U.S. History. This statewide assessment will measure student mastery of those Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) for Social Studies identified in the document entitled U.S. History End-of- Course Assessment Test Item Specifications (the “Item Specifications Guide").

Our U.S. History Test Bank—Florida Edition (ISBN 0-9835171-7-7) is designed to provide your students with the practice they need to perform their very best on the test.  Research shows that familiarity with test item formats helps students to raise their scores.  Our  U.S. History Test Bank is organized around Florida’s NGSSS for High School U.S. History. Each individual Benchmark is found in a gray box at the top of a page, beginning a new section. The state standard is then followed by a series of multiple-choice questions based on the Benchmark, Benchmark Clarification, Content Limits, Stimulus Attributes and Content Focus provided in the Item Specifications Guide. The items are closely patterned after the released questions found in the Item Specifications Guide.

Test bank questions run the gamut from easy to challenging—both in content and cognitive complexity. Each question is designed to assess student mastery of a specific Standard and Benchmark. Most important of all, you will find maps, documentary excerpts, photographs, diagrams and other stimuli as part of many of these questions—just like the questions on Florida’s actual EOC test.  These test bank questions can help teachers gauge what their students know for diagnostic purposes. They also give students essential practice in answering a greater variety of questions, in order to better prepare them for this year’s EOC Assessment.

The U.S. History Test Bank—Florida Edition has 647 questions. It is large enough and has a wide enough range of questions for teachers to use some of its items for classroom quizzes, tests and games—and for department chairs to still have plenty of questions left for school-wide benchmark assessments. In most cases, district social studies coordinators retain some of the assessment items for their own use in creating district-wide benchmark assessments, and provide some of the items to teacher for their own use.

This product is available from Education Plus, a company affiliated with Florida Transformative Education. Education Plus has a wealth of experience in preparing practice Social Studies assessment items and test banks. In Texas, 38 of the 40 largest public school districts—including both Houston Independent School District and Dallas Independent School District—have now purchased one or more of our test banks.

It would cost your school thousands of dollars to produce a test bank of comparable scope and quality. Why spend valuable teacher time and resources in developing your own assessment items when these test bank items generally provide superior quality at a lower price? There is simply no better bargain available today!

Each license is perpetual: test bank questions can be used year after year at no additional cost, although the copyright remains ours and you cannot share these secure items with others outside your school or district.

Miami-Dade, Broward, Clay, Bay, Collier, Charlotte, and Manatee Counties already have purchased licenses to the test bank or obtained a license as part of their district-wide instructional materials adoption. If you are in one of those districts, your district social studies supervisor is already using its assessment items.

In Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Duval, Orange, Lee and Hernando Counties, our U.S. Test Bank—Florida Edition is sold on a school-by-school basis. If you are a teacher or administrator in one of those districts and want to purchase a license for your school, please contact us.
